With the approach of the blessed Eid al-Adha and the increasing demand from citizens to purchase red meat and sacrifice animals, the Kurdistan Team for Strategic Studies, in collaboration with several medical and academic institutions, organized a specialized scientific panel on the dangerous and deadly disease Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever, under the slogan: "Eid al-Adha under the Shadow of Hemorrhagic Fever - How to Protect Ourselves"
Panel topics included three scientific and medical presentations by:
- Prof. Dr. Mohammed Omar Mohammed** (Human Medicine) - Topic: Hemorrhagic Fever in Humans, Accurate Information.
- Prof. Dr. Nahla Mohammed Said** (Veterinary Medicine) - Topic: An Overview of Hemorrhagic Fever
-Asst. Prof. Dr. Hussein Hassan Karim** (Islamic Sciences) - Topic: An Overview of Hemorrhagic Fever
The panel highlighted these important points:
- Risk of Transmission: The disease is transmitted through contact with the blood of infected animals
- Need for Monitoring: Providing veterinary medical examination before slaughter
- Public Awareness : Delivering accurate information to people to prevent fear and panic
