The Kurdistan Institution for Strategic Studies and Scientific Research (KISSR) celebrated a series of significant milestones today, Wednesday, May 7th, 2025, highlighting its commitment to international standards and the advancement of scientific research. The institution was awarded ISO certifications in three distinct fields of management during a special ceremony. This achievement underscores KISSR's dedication to quality and efficiency across its operations. In his address at the event, Professor Dr. Shwan Kamal Rashid, President of KISSR, emphasized the institution's ongoing efforts to address strategic and current societal issues through comprehensive research and data collection. He highlighted the establishment of a comprehensive database encompassing various critical areas.
Professor Dr. Shwan also proudly announced the launch of KISSR's newly redesigned website. Adding to these accomplishments, Professor Dr. Shwan unveiled Gala, KISSR's new international scientific journal. The journal will provide a platform for publishing high-quality strategic studies and scientific work from researchers both domestically and abroad. Professor Dr. Shwan emphasized that Gala adheres to international standards, further elevating KISSR's role in the global academic community.
Professor Dr. Shwan took the opportunity to acknowledge the foundational role of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the early leadership in establishing KISSR. He also outlined some of the key strategic study areas undertaken by KISSR, including market surveys, economic issues, artificial intelligence, common diseases, agriculture, environmental concerns, and the establishment of a digital museum. He stressed KISSR's commitment to collaborating with academic centers and partners in the public and private sectors to find scientific solutions to these challenges.
The ISO certifications awarded to KISSR cover management quality, environmental management, and occupational health and safety.
